"Say something about beauty"--the Ungame

She has a smile that would make wise men do foolish things... and I am not a wise man.

That's not particularly relevant to anything, but it's been in my head for awhile. I thought it had a nice ring to it but it didn't fit into any of my other postings.

Tim, I can't help but notice that your blog now has a flower on it.
Yeah well, I had planned to make my own template when I first started this. I even took an online crash course in CSS, only to discover that I didn't have any design ideas. So until I get around to that, here's this nice water lily. 'Cause it's raining.

Comments:

Tim, the flower scares me...but I love the rain, except what it did to my car. I guess I don't love it anymore.

What are you talking about? Rain makes brown cars white again. And the water lily's pretty.

So the flower is... cool actually. Seems weirdly "appropriate."

The new site is nice though, keep up with CSS - maybe you can tinker with it some more later. My one "complaint": I wish comments would have time AND date.

P.S. Who's the girl? ;)

My car needed new windshield wipers when I got it... but why bother, since it only rains twice a year in Southern California anyway? Other than that my car loves the
rain.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, (no... me?) but I didn't make this template. Since I didn't seem to making one myself and the old page was rather bland, I decided to just pick one from Blogger Templates. I should have included a link as part of the deal for using their template, so there it is. I only tweaked it a bit because the original template did not allow for comments at all.

And Jeff, I was simply making a general statement regarding the nature of beauty and it's overpowering effect on man, not necessarily referring to any girl in particular. I would think you of all people could appreciate that, so why would you ask a question that you already know the answer to?

T-
First of all, many thanks for adding the date to comments... it makes it easier to read for obnoxious people like me that care about such petty details. :)

Secondly, I'm sorry, I should have been nicer about asking that question. I was just teasing you... it DID seem like a random thought and I was just trying to give you a little bit of a hard time. Not too many guys will talk about such "deep" topics. I'm impressed that you think "deeply" on a regular basis about many topics. Again, I'm sorry if you took any offense.
-Jeff A.

I realize that my comment above came across as much more defensive than I meant it. I was actually just about to delete it, only to find that you had already replied. Hmm. So no, I wasn't upset. It was feigned indignity, the subtlety of which, I suppose, is lost in the typing.

By the way, on a completely unrelated note, it's a common trick in various computer adventure/puzzle games that in order to solve a certain riddle, you simply ignore everything but what is italicized in a block of text.
Just sayin'.
